The Air Jordan 15 (XV) OG line was not liked by many, and even to this day is looked upon as the worst Jordan of all time, but what was hated worse than a regular Air Jordan XV OG, was the Air Jordan 15 (XV) Original Lows, but the Air Jordan 15 (XV) OG Black / White / Metallic Silver was loved the best out of the three.

Taking a different step from traditional Air Jordan 15 OG, the Air Jordan 15 (XV) Original Low Black / White / Metallic Silver contains a soft leather upper. Out of all the Air Jordan OG 15 Lows, this pair did better (sell wise) than the other two, but due to Retro’s and the Jordan 16 around the corner, they still flopped.

In 2000, the Air Jordan XV (15) made its official debut in three different styles and in various color-ways. The Air Jordan 15 (XV) Original White, Columbia Blue and Black was among the original color-ways to be sold in the turn of the century.

The Air Jordan 15 (XV) Original White / Columbia Blue – Black sported a sleek combination of colors that balance in each other out with subtle accents. The Air Jordan XV (15) OG is an oddly designed Air Jordan model, but nevertheless it is very unique and unlike any of the previous styles. Michael Jordan was gone from the NBA for the second time, but not the last. Sadly he retired before he could wear the Air Jordan 15 (XV) Original Black / Varsity Red in a NBA game. The best color-way for the Air Jordan 15 (XV) OG was the first to release in 1999.

The Air Jordan 15 (XV) OG Black / Varsity Red featured the tongue stuck out, which resembled when Michael Jordan soared to the basket with his tongue out, and a woven upper for flexibility. The numbers on the heel represent Michael Jordan’s number, number of Championships won, number of the Air Jordan model (15) and Michael Jordan’s birthday.

Air Jordan 15 (XV)

Air Jordan XV – Air Jordan 15

Since Michael Jordan retired once again, people started saying that the Air Jordan line should be discontinued. But of course, Tinker Hatfield, Micahel and the other designers thought otherwise. It was time to look for inspirations, something different, something not previously used on another shoe.

So the idea of the Air Jordan 15 would be to pay respect to Michael and his years in the NBA. The X-15 fighter plane came into mind at the moment. This plane broke the speed records, and set its own at 4,502 miles per hour. The X-15 is the best there ever was, just like Michael.

Rumor also has it that the tongue on the Air Jordan XV is inspired by Michael Jordan, since he always sticks his tongue out when he goes for a dunk, shot, or layup.

Some nice features of the Air Jordan XV are the hidden quick-lace system, seamless dynamic-fit sleeve, Kevlar mesh uppers, Zoom Air sole, rubber herringbone pods, injected TPR external heel counter, and a breathable leather pattern. So the question is, how would the Air Jordan XV do with the consumers?

Sadly, the high expectations for the Jordan 15 to sell well were not met. The Air Jordan XV is disliked by many (and most likely the most hated Air Jordan). The quality of them was terrible, the inner sleeve was too loose, and very uncomfortable.

In 1999-2000 when the Air Jordan XV released they sold for $150.00, and a total of four color ways were released. Also three pairs of low Air Jordan XV released ($140.00) and four pairs of moccasins were released ($90.00).
